Wait Table — Privacy Policy

Wait Table is a waitlist and table management app used by businesses to manage guest waitlists. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and your choices.

Information We Collect

When a guest joins a waitlist through the app (via the self-service kiosk screen,Host/Secretary adds guest, or a QR-code join link), we collect:

• First and last name
• Phone number
• Party size

This information is provided directly by the guest at the time they join a waitlist. We do not require guests to create an account, and we do not collect this information for any purpose other than operating the waitlist for that visit.

For venue staff using the Host side of the app, we store venue configuration such as restaurant name, table layout, and a staff access PIN, on the device and associated with the venue's account.

How We Use Information

• Waitlist management — to add guests to the queue, estimate wait times, and let staff manage the list in real time.
• SMS notifications — a guest's phone number is used to text them a confirmation when they join, and a notification when their table is ready.

We do not use guest information for advertising, and we do not sell guest information to third parties.

Sharing With Third Parties

To deliver SMS notifications, phone numbers are transmitted to our SMS delivery provider solely for the purpose of sending the messages described above. We do not share guest information with any other third party, and we do not permit our SMS provider to use guest phone numbers for any purpose beyond delivering our messages.

Data Retention

Guest waitlist information is retained only for as long as necessary to operate the waitlist and provide basic historical reporting to the venue (e.g. today's wait times), after which it is deleted or anonymized. Venues can request removal of specific guest records at any time.

Data Security

Venue credentials used to connect the app to a venue's account are stored using the device's built-in secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), which encrypts them at rest. We take reasonable technical measures to protect the information we collect, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Camera Access

The app requests camera access solely to scan QR codes for venue setup. The app does not capture, store, or upload photos or video.

Children's Privacy

Wait Table is a business tool intended for use by restaurant staff and their guests in the ordinary course of dining out. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your Choices

If you are a guest and would like your information removed, please contact the venue you visited directly, or reach out to us using the contact information below and we will assist in routing your request.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
